Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 3, 2026

These terms govern your use of kayuelok.com and any pieces you order from Kayu Elok. By browsing the site or joining our waitlist, you agree to the terms below.

1. Agreement to these terms

Kayu Elok (“Kayu Elok”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates kayuelok.com (the “Site”). By accessing the Site, joining our waitlist, or placing an order once the Site opens for sales, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. About Kayu Elok

Kayu Elok is a calligraphy studio based in Jepara, Indonesia — the world's wood carving capital. We design and produce 3D Arabic calligraphy wall art carved from solid teak wood, combining generations of Jepara craftsmanship with precision CNC technology. Each piece is made to order in small batches by our workshop team.

3. Site status and the waitlist

kayuelok.com is currently in a pre-launch, “coming soon” phase. The Site does not yet process live orders or payments. Joining our early access waitlist does not create a contract to purchase, and does not guarantee product availability, pricing, or a specific launch date. We may change or discontinue the waitlist at any time.

4. Craftsmanship and product variation

Every piece is carved from natural solid teak wood. Grain pattern, tone, and finish will vary slightly from piece to piece and from any photos shown on the Site — this variation is a feature of handmade wood, not a defect. Where a listing offers custom sizing, finishing, or wording, the final piece is produced to your specification and, once production has started, may not be eligible for cancellation.

5. Orders, pricing, and payment

Once ordering opens, prices will be listed in the currency shown on the Site and are subject to change without notice until an order is confirmed. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order — for example if a piece is mis-priced, out of stock, or we suspect fraud — in which case any payment already made will be refunded in full.

6. Intellectual property

The Kayu Elok name, logo, calligraphy designs, product photography, and all other content on the Site are owned by Kayu Elok or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, resell, or create derivative works from our designs or content without our prior written consent.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or interfere with the Site's operation;
  • Scrape, copy, or republish Site content for a competing product or service; or
  • Submit false information when joining the waitlist or contacting us.

8. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party platforms, such as our social media profiles. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site you visit from a link on kayuelok.com.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Site and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kayu Elok will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indonesian law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Central Java, Indonesia, unless applicable consumer protection law says otherwise.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
