Privacy Policy

Kayu Elok (“Kayu Elok”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a calligraphy studio based in Jepara, Indonesia, and operates kayuelok.com (the “Site”). This policy describes how we handle information collected through the Site, in line with Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU No. 27/2022).

We collect information in a few limited ways:

• Waitlist and contact details — your email address, and your name if you provide it, when you join our early access waitlist or contact us directly.
• Order and shipping details — once ordering is live, information such as your name, shipping address, and order details needed to fulfil a purchase.
• Usage data — standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected automatically through analytics tools when you browse the Site.

We do not knowingly collect payment card numbers directly — these are handled by a payment processor once checkout is available, and are never stored on our own servers.

The Site may use cookies and privacy-focused analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve it. These tools may set cookies in your browser and collect usage data as described above. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the Site may not function as intended if you do.

We use the information we collect to:

• Notify waitlist subscribers when early access or launch opens;
• Respond to enquiries sent to us;
• Process, fulfil, and ship orders once ordering is live;
• Understand how the Site is used so we can improve its content and performance; and
• Meet legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Site and our business — for example hosting providers, email delivery tools, analytics providers, and (once live) shipping couriers and payment processors — and only to the extent needed for them to perform that service. We may also disclose information if required by law.

We keep waitlist and contact information for as long as you remain subscribed or until you ask us to delete it. Order and transaction records, once ordering is live, are kept for as long as needed to meet tax, accounting, and warranty obligations.

You can ask us at any time to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate information;
• Delete your information or remove you from our waitlist; or
• Withdraw any consent you previously gave us.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

The Site is hosted on infrastructure that may be located outside Indonesia. By using the Site, you understand your information may be processed in a country with different data protection laws than your own.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
